Add New Item

This article describes ways of how to create Opex items in ModelTree. 
To learn more on the Opex tab interface, please read the Opex Tab Interface - Description article.

Manual creation

  1. Click + Add New Opex button on the Opex tab menu. 
  2. You can fill the newly created item with all necessary data.
  3. To delete an item(s) you need to select one or more items you would like to delete and click - Delete button on the Opex tab menu.

Import from Excel

  1. Click Import from Excel button on the Opex tab menu. 
  2. If it's your first time importing via Import Wizard - ModelTree opens a dialogue window so you can choose the folder/file you want to be imported. Choose a file and click Open.
    For the next time importing ModelTree opens the Excel Import Wizard window with the opex file uploaded (the recent one) and the last mapping settings you used.
  3. After choosing the file, ModelTree opens the Excel Import Wizard window. It is the same Wizard that is used for Rent Roll importing but with different target items. To learn more on how Import Wizard works please go to Import Wizard - Import Data from Excel.
  4. Choose Mapping template or Create New by clicking + button. In this article, you can learn more about How To Create a Mapping Template.
  5. Click Prepare button in the top right corner of the Import Wizard window. This function will run validation and check current mapping and file on potential errors. If the button is disabled - there is one or more alerts that must be fixed. To learn more about alerts, please follow the link Import Wizard - Alerts.

Predefined collection of Opex Items

There can be a default set of Opex items and values once you start a new analysis. 
Each Cash Flow template can only have one default set of Opex Items.
Please contact the Exquance team to tune your predefined opex items collection.

 

Opex Items from External Client Systems

Opex Items can be inserted into an Asset via API connection between ModelTree and the external system (for example, PM system or budgeting application). If such integration is established, all opex items automatically appear in the asset once it's created. 
This is custom technology and doesn't available by default. Please contact the Exquance team to learn more about integration.
